I’m a first generation American born in the USA who has been raised by loving and nurturing parents. I hope that sometimes our most important relationships are messy and ugly but at other times we have great conversations about our differences, strengths and weaknesses. I’m not a perfect son. I had a mom who gave birth to me, but I know now that she wasn’t the best mother and was too busy with work and school for me. Her words were very loud in my ears, even when we were just sitting around Christmas or at church and drinking coffee. She said that her heart was broken at the loss of her husband (mother) as well as her children because they didn’t have parents to take care of them. She lost things such as money, jewelry, clothes, toys etc…
I’m not perfect, I am a crazy mother and that’s why I am proud to be her son. My Father is an inspiration for me and my momma.
